The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick

Is Hugo another homeless young thief roaming the streets of Paris or is he a genius who just hasn't gotten any lucky breaks? Why is the old man in the toy booth so grouchy? Does the girl want to be his friend? How can Hugo have a friend when he has so many secrets to keep? And why didn't his uncle ever come home? These and more questions will be answered in this graphic novel by Brian Selznick. Don't let the size scare you, there are lots of pictures. Grades 3-6
