The Journey That Saved Curious George: The True Wartime Escape of Margret and H.A. Rey by Louise Borden
When World War II started the Reys were living in Paris and working on a book about a monkey named Fifi. But Paris was not safe when the Germans arrived. Because they were Jewish, the Germans probably would sent them to a concentration camp and because they were German, some of the French villagers were afraid they were spies. So the Reys, decided to leave for Rio and then America but thousands of other people were trying to get away from the Germans too and the only way out was by bicycle.
